The Genoa Acquarium

The Genoa Acquarium is the largest Italian acquarium and the second in Europe, after the acquarium in Valencia, Spain. It is located on Ponte Spinola, an antique port in Genoa from the 500’s.
It was opened in 1992 as an event to celebrate the five hundredth anniversary of the Discovery of the Americas. Afterwards, the acquarium has been under several building extensions.

Sat-Sun from 9:30 a.m.to 20:30 p.m.

From March 1, 2008 to June 30, 2008
Mon-Tue-Wed-Thur-Fri from 9:00 a.m. to 19:30 p.m.
Sat-Sun from 8:45 a.m.to 20:30 p.m.

From July 1, 2008 to August 31, 2008
Everyday from 8:30 a.m. to 22:00 p.m.

From September 1, 2008 to October 31, 2008
Mon-Tue-Wed-Thur-Fri from 9:00 a.m. to 19:30 p.m.

The acquarium’s visit last approximately 2 hours.
For schools and groups (25 people min.) is required to reserve in advance.

How to get to the Acquarium:
By car: exit on paytoll “Genova-Ovest”
By train: Genova p. Principe Station (from here the Acquarium can be reached on foot)
On foot: 15 minutes from the P. Principe Station
On airplane: 30 minutes (Volabus in connection with the flights).
From the Cruise Terminal: 20 minutes (Bus n. 1)
On the bus: metropolitana ( De Ferrari way- San Giorgio stop); main stop in front of the Acquarium: lines 1, 12, 13
Parking:
The parking is located in front of the Acquarium with a total of 167 posts for cars and some other for handicaps.
