The Celle Ligure Hotel, on the Riviera ligure of Ponente, 3 star category, is the classic family hotel managed by the Canepa’s for two generations. Small, discreet, is intended to offer hospitality, overall, to families. The Adriana’s Hotel is associated to Logis d’Italia Hotels & Restaurants and holds the Quality mark from the Chamber of Commerce of Savona.Hotel Adriana, Celle Ligure, Savona Bartolomeo Canepa, called Berto, and his wife Adriana wanted to become Innkeepers. They tried for the first time in 1956 signing a leasing contract (the classic 9 year management plus 9 year with automatic renewal) at Celle Ligure,on the Riviera of Ponente. From here, the flat land of Varazze leaves place to the mountain, that arrives and crashes against the sea, guaranteeing a breeze and a particular oxigenation from Celle Ligure towards the west. The Beigua, behind the city, dominates the sea with more than a thousand feet height and a handful of miles away from the shoreline. The cold weather rests confined further from the watershed that divides the Liguria from Piemonte, and the eternal Ligurian spring moves into the heart of the summer thanks to the breeze that blows down the mountain and brings relieve from the hot sun and the reflection of the sea. Celle Ligure faces the sea with a short gulf that seems more than a wrinkle on this fragmented and nervous coast, that draws a big crescent moon towards Ventimiglia, joining itself with the French coast. Berto and Adriana leased the Pescetto Hotel but their adventure only lasted one year because the owner took it back due to family reasons. In love with the place, the young couple began to look around and found the perfect place, located halfway on a hill, that had all the ideal characteristics to establish a hotel. In only 5 months and 17 days, the structure was built, just on time to take advantage of the summer season of 1958. The hotel featured 27 guestrooms, a large restaurant, and surrounding wide spaces for adults and children. Out of the 27 guestrooms, only 2 had private services. In 1946, always in Celle Ligure, was born Stefano, the only couple’s son, who was more interested in a dynamic activity such as, automobile rallies, than being an innkeeper. “I have competed for four years at a semiprofessional level” remembers Stefano. “It would have been just a short period of time for me to receive an official car.” In 1977, Berto died and Adriana, whom the hotel is dedicated to, takes care of the hotel with a strong and decisive hand, next to Stefano. “Mom Adriana, with 90 years, lived with determination and energy, has always been the real head of the house towards the end of the eighties” remembers Daniela Carnemolla, who married Stefano in 1986. Stefano and Daniela have two children. “ It wasn’t easy for Adriana to leave her place but it had to happen. Time is the worst enemy.” The hotel has changed notably since its opening in the fifty’s” explains Stefano. “In 1974 we installed private bathrooms in all the guestrooms, in 1987 the elevator and the kitchen were installed as well, in 1995 we have redone completely the bathrooms and the guestrooms and introduced heating with radiators, in 2003 we adopted the doors REI 30 and 60. The furnishings were done by Pozzi from Cassanmagnano and the REI doors were done by Petrolcam.” Stefano graduated as an accountant. The sportive activity seemed to be his destiny, but after his father’s death, he found himself as an innkeeper. “Fifteen years ago I have discovered another talent, cooking” says Stefano. “In the kitchen I have discovered a vocation that I would never have thought in my younger years. Today I am proud to offer a high level restaurant to all my clients and those who find themselves here for a long stay. My cooking goes inside the roots of the Ligurian traditions, that I love to interpret in a creative manner. Although, I am also well prepared to take care of my Celiac guests, who are intolerant to the gluten in the pasta.” In the kitchen, Stefano shows me a splendid Rational self-cleaning trivalent oven (“A wonder of the German technology”), a Baron’s freezer, the Zanussi gas stove, the big Mareno refrigerator and the other three cell refrigerators in the back. “Between HACCP and 626, Italian hotels are safer and more secure in case of fire and also in the kitchen’s hygiene and the conservation methods and food handling. It is a shame that this is not well knowned by the Italian clientele that continues to dine in other restaurants” regrets Stefano. Daniela defines herself as the hotel’s ”Jack-of-all-trades”, because she takes care of everything but the kitchen and the wines, Stefano’s exclusive chore, who has a valuable cellar. Elia, the first son, 17 years old, secondary school student, has began helping in the reception; Carlota, 15 years old, just takes care of her studies for now. “ We officially undertook the management in 1992” explains Stefano. The hotel needed to be updated in our offered services and be adequate for our new clientele at that time.” “Ours is a typical family hotel ideal for families” intervenes Daniela. “I used my experience as a mother and for example, our clients are provided with a kitchen in where they can prepare their babies’ food and bottles. We also have an independent laundry room on the back. In a full season, we host up to 60 people.” The guestrooms have bathrooms with natural light and are panneled with porcelain stoneware in different colors at a second level to differentiate the floors from the walls. Wide shower boxes with Novellini glasses, Irsap wall radiators, sinks in Senesi porcelain and Ideal Standard, Inda’s wall phones. Great lighting in the bathrooms. Many guestrooms have a futon as a third bed, a particular sofa bed with wood claspboards. Two guestrooms per floor (six total) are communicating. 15 guestrooms have a balcony. The mattresses are Simmons and Portoflex, fireproof of course. A big luggage cart at the entrance, the in-room safe with an electronic card, fresh and stylish furnishings, and a great lighting, define the guestrooms. “On the contrary of other hotels, explain Stefano and Daniela, “we have well invested in the rooms’ comfort instead of the commom areas. They are our new goal for the next upgrade.” “Our overall clientele comes from Lombardia and Piemonte.” “We have very loyal clients that come to us from generations. Clients that came here as children, now come back as parents. We give so much importance to the quality of our welcoming and our hospitality, that are the professional cornerstone of our business. These are the reasons why we made the fundamental decision of becoming part of the Logis d’Italia Hotels &Restaurants association, and achieve the Quality mark from the Chamber of Commerce of Savona. This trademark provides the hotel with careful and periodical controls from independent specialized companies, to guarantee the quality of the structure and the services offered. ![]() Hotel Adriana Stefano Canepa, Daniela Carnemolla Tel. 019990027, Fax 019990372 Cette adresse email est protégée contre les robots des spammeurs, vous devez activer Javascript pour la voir. www.hoteladriana.it |
