Galata - Museum of the Sea
The Galata Museum of the Sea at Genoa, is the largest and most modern museum dedicated to the Mediterranean Sea in Italy. It was opened in 2004, the same year when Genoa was recognized as the European Capital of Culture. The museum is located in the Palazzo Galata ( from the antique overseas colony) inside the antique port on the Darsena area, where the “galee” for the maritime republic were built.
Dates and opening/closing hours:

March-October , Tuesday to Sunday: from 10:00 a.m to 19:30 p.m.
November-February, Tuesday to Friday: from 10:00 a.m. to 18:00 p.m.
Saturdays and holidays from 10:00 a.m. to 19:30 p.m.
